Canadian Home Trends asks Space Harmony to Design a Bedroom
We love collaborating with other local businesses and designers. There are so many inspiring people working in the design community in Vancouver and the rest of Canada! So when Canadian Home Trends asked the Space Harmony team to come up with a mood board for a bedroom, we were thrilled! This challenge had us execute a bedroom design using furniture from local Vancouver company, The Goods. We loved creating it and hope you will love it too!
We describe this bedroom design as a modern take on Rustic Nautical. The bed is the starting point and it sets the tone for the space as casual and organic. We chose to add finesse and a European twist by using classic elements like wainscoting and freestanding side tables. By painting the wall paneling a light grey, we keep the room fresh and modern. The grass cloth wallpaper adds texture and depth to the walls, while glass pendants and a leaning mirror soften the space. The room is gender neutral but we imagined a homeowner working in fashion, a globetrotter with a passion for sailing! This cozy and comfortable bedroom, balanced with cool grey and warm wood tones, seems the perfect retreat after a long day at work.
If you are trying to design a space with this theme, don’t be afraid to mix different elements. Just because the bed is rustic, it doesn’t mean everything else in the room has to be too. An eclectic design that incorporates various styles is ultimately more “timeless”.
We love this looks because it’s bold but still comfortable. It’s rustic but has some refined touches. It’s calming and interesting. We love this look because it is inspired by nature, which is always the best place to go to unwind and relax.
