Kitchen Design Trends That Are Here To Stay!
It’s true, remodelling your kitchen is a big investment. In fact, as far as the interior of your home is concerned, it is one of the biggest. It’s important that your designer considers this when planning your space. Kitchen trends are great to explore but nobody wants to redo a kitchen every 5 years. Deciding what style of kitchen you want and need is the job of an experienced interior designer. If it’s done properly, your kitchen should last you many years. Here are some of the trends in kitchens we believe have staying power.
1. Grey, Grey, and White
– Wood is beautiful, but certain stains do fall in and out of favour. Neutral colours are always in style. An all white kitchen, when done right, is classic and bright. Adding grey lower cabinets or a dark grey island is a great way to add contrast and alleviate the starkness of all white. We think this trend is here to stay.

Warm Metals
– Move over brushed nickel you finally have some competition, brass and rose gold. This is not the shiny brass of your grandparent’s home in the 80’s; this is a warm sophisticated metal that looks totally modern. If you are going to invest in a trend, try your kitchen fixtures or accessories. It costs a lot less than brand new granite countertops!

2. Shaped Ceramic Tiles
– perhaps a bolder trend to consider but worth it we think. Our advice on this trend would be to keep it neutral or consistent with the countertops. If you choose a bold shape, don’t choose a bold colour and vise versa. Pretty lasts forever.

3. Open Shelving
– bright, open kitchens are always in style. We love the idea of some, strategic open shelving to showcase your most beautiful kitchen décor. Not only a place for everyday items, but also a place to carefully curate an assortment of personal items that speaks to you as an individual.

4. Industrial Lighting
–This trend might have started in your favourite java spot but it can happen in your home too. We love industrial lighting for modern kitchens. Worn metal cages or coated pendant fixtures are a beautiful contrast to sleek cabinetry. They also look perfect paired with wood, adding layers and texture to a room. Kitchens need to be functional and a little industrial touch can spare a room from being too precious.
