Outdoor Pavilion Design

We approached this West Vancouver outdoor pavilion project with a vision to create a versatile entertainment space that would serve as an extension of our clients’ home. Working with 600 square feet, we designed a structure that married functionality with West Coast elegance through the warmth of natural wood beams and a partially transparent roof that allows natural light to filter through while providing shelter. The timber-framed pavilion creates a seamless transition between the home and garden, with the architectural elements echoing the region’s signature style.

We thoughtfully divided the space into distinct functional zones to accommodate various entertainment needs. The fully equipped kitchen features a substantial island with a specialized trough sink for beverages and fresh produce, complete with built-in refrigeration and ample countertop space for food preparation. The light-colored tile base contrasts beautifully with the dark countertops, creating a sophisticated yet practical culinary space that allows our clients to entertain without constantly running back to their main kitchen.

We designed the lounge area as a comfortable retreat overlooking the tranquil pond, incorporating a large sectional with vibrant green and yellow accent pillows that echo the surrounding landscape. The modern fire table serves as both a visual focal point and a practical heat source for cooler evenings. Turquoise poufs add playful, flexible seating options, while the careful landscaping surrounding the pavilion—featuring a winding stone path, water feature, and lush plantings—transforms the entire backyard into a cohesive entertainment oasis that our clients can enjoy throughout Vancouver’s warmer months.
